Children's counselling, also known as child therapy or child counselling, is a specialised form of therapy that addresses the unique emotional, social, and developmental needs of children and adolescents. It provides a safe and supportive environment for children to explore their thoughts and feelings with a trained professional, helping them develop positive coping skills and navigate various challenges.
Our services incorporate a variety of compassionate and effective modalities tailored to meet each child's unique needs, including child-centred, play-based, trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches, child-solution focused play therapy, and neuroaffirming practices. These methods are intentionally designed to foster trust, resilience, and emotional growth, helping children feel safe and understood as they work through their experiences.
We work closely with parents and carers to provide guidance and strategies that can support their child's ongoing growth and resilience, fostering a strong foundation for their future.
Our children’s counselling services are suitable for children aged 3 to 18 years, as well as their carers. We support a wide range of presentations and diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, trauma and post-traumatic stress, exposure to Domestice & Family Violence, emotional regulation difficulties, and sensory processing issues. We also work with children experiencing grief, separation or family-related concerns, as well as those navigating neurodivergence or developmental delays. Our tailored, trauma-informed, and neuroaffirming approaches are designed to meet the individual needs of each child, helping them manage their symptoms, develop resilience, and foster emotional wellbeing.
Our counselling services offer a range of evidence-based approaches tailored specifically for individuals up to 18 years old. We utilise techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Child-Centred Play Therapy (CCPT) to help young people develop resilience, manage their emotions, and overcome life’s challenges.
These approaches are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and practical, designed to empower children and adolescents to build coping skills, set goals, and find effective solutions.
Our sessions promote insight, healing, and growth, supporting children to process trauma, overcome difficulties, and thrive in their daily lives. Our goal is to foster resilience and emotional well-being through compassionate, evidence-based therapy tailored to each young person’s unique needs.
