TAYLA HUNTER: CERTIFIED PLAY THERAPIST & COUNSELLOR

As a qualified Child-Centred Play Therapy & Children's Counsellor, I am deeply committed to empowering children, young people, and their families through compassionate and evidence-based counselling and play therapy. With a Bachelor of Human Services (Major in Counselling) earned in 2017 from a local university, I have devoted my career to advocating for those in need. My extensive experience spans roles as a Youth Worker, Case Manager, and Specialist Children’s Counsellor, with a focused background in addressing the impact of domestic violence.

I have worked closely with clients facing a range of disorders and mental health challenges, including ADHD, ASD, ODD, anxiety, and depression. Each session is approached with empathy, understanding, and a strong commitment to fostering a safe space where children can express their true selves. Through the transformative power of play, I employ a non-directive methodology that encourages exploration of thoughts and emotions, allowing children to navigate their experiences in a supportive environment.

Currently, I am further enhancing my skills by completing training in child-centered play therapy, with the goal of becoming a certified Play Therapist. In addition, I am a proud Level 2 member of the Australian Counselling Association, Associate member of the Play Therapist Practitioners Association, hold professional liability insurance, and actively engage in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development. This commitment ensures I provide the highest standard of care to my clients.
